Representative Cases

Streamline Production Systems, Inc. v. Streamline Manufacturing, Inc., Cause No. 4:14-cv-01289, in the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas. The firm obtained a favorable jury verdict on behalf of the Plaintiff trademark owner.

Wellogix, Inc. v. BP America, Inc. et al.; Cause No. 3:08-cv-00119, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Galveston Division. Represented Plaintiff against BP in a patent infringement case related to methods of managing and reconciling field documentation in a complex workflow system.

Frank’s Casing Crew & Rental Tools, Inc., et. al. v. PMR Technologies, Ltd., Cause No. 98-0254, in the Western District of Louisiana. The firm obtained a declaratory judgment on behalf of inventor Peter Weiner and the assignees of his invention against PMR, who failed to list him as an inventor on patents related to methods and apparatus for monitoring torque. The declaratory judgment was upheld on appeal: Frank’s Casing Crew, 292 F.3d 1393 (Fed. Cir. 2002).

Tam International v. Franks Casing Crew; Cause No. 4:96-cv-03197, In the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas. Obtained a favorable settlement on behalf of Frank’s Casing in a patent infringement action related to circulating fluid through the casing in a wellbore.

Bala Delay Line v. Xilinx, Inc.; Cause No. 5:10-cv-0211, In the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas. Represented Plaintiff Bala Delay Line and inventor Fred Mirow against Xilinx in an action for infringement of a patent related to a field effect transistor (FET) oscillator.

Carbide Blast Joints, et. al. v. Rickert Precision Indus., et. al.; Cause No. 4:88-cv-04425, in the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas. The firm successfully defended against a claim of patent infringement related to an oil and gas production device.

Watson & Chalin Manufacturing, Inc. v. The Boler Company; Case No. 4;01-cv-266, in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas. Following a favorable claim construction ruling, the firm was able to negotiate a seven-figure settlement on behalf of the patent owner.

MGM Well Services Inc. v. Production Control Services Inc.; Cause No. 6:10-cv-00088, in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas. Represented the plaintiff patent owner in an infringement action related to downhole tools for gas lift technology. The case was settled on terms favorable for the patent owner.

GAIA Technologies, Inc. v. Reconversion Technologies, Inc. et al ; Cause No. 93- 3334; in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Successfully represented GAIA in a complex multiform litigation involving patent ownership, infringement (patent and trademark) and theft of trade secrets.

WW Tradewinds LLC v. Timberlakes Lighthouse Apartments; Cause No.4:13-cv-01379; in the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas. Defended against trademark and trade dress infringement and negotiated a settlement with no money paid to plaintiff.
